  • IYNC/IAEA Study Committee: Volunteers are needed!

IYNC is embarking on an important project with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA). The goal of the project is to investigate the situations and challenges that young professionals face in the nuclear industry around the world. The final result will be similar to an NA-YGN report at but with a global scope. This is an opportunity for IYNC to truly serve as the voice of the young generation!

The first part of the project will entail conducting an online survey from which results are due in June in time for the IAEA Knowledge Management Conference. The committee will need to design and conduct the survey then interpret its results in a report to the IAEA. The committee will use those results to determine the course of the rest of the project. To that end, we need volunteers to serve on the project committee. It is important that we have a diverse set of volunteers that represent all major regions of the world and that can work together cooperatively. All of the volunteers must be able to devote the time necessary to complete the project.

Please consider if you or a colleague would be interested in serving on this committee and distribute the information to your national network. It is envisioned that the committee will be made up of 10-15 members. If there are more than 15 volunteers, members will be selected by the IYNC officers in such a way as to maintain geographical and professional diversity. If interested, please send the following information to Lisa Stiles-Shell and Petra Lehtinen by 28 February 2007:
